A 30-second commercial and a 45-minute drama episode are both edited, but they're not the same craft. Commercial editing is built for immediate impact — every cut earns its place in a tight window. Drama editing has to hold tone and character across an entire season, episode after episode. Feature editing has to sustain structure across two hours.
We organize our editing department around that difference instead of treating editing as one generic skill. Editors who live in commercials daily are not necessarily the right fit for a drama's pacing, and vice versa. Specializing means every project gets an editor who already thinks in that format.
